Postcards From the Endangered: Bellflowers & Wild Places

Updated: 12 minutes ago

Planting seeds of gratitude, one endangered place at a time.

If you’ve found a little pouch of Canterbury Bell seeds on a walk—maybe tucked near a path or left at the base of a tree—this is for you.

I’ve been visiting some of the UK’s most precious wild places as part of a project I’ve started called Postcards from the Endangered. It’s my way of shining a light on the beauty of these landscapes, the threats they face, and the small things we can do to help.

The seed pouches are a simple thank you—to nature, to the bees, and to anyone taking the time to notice and care. Bellflowers symbolise gratitude, and planting them is an easy, positive step we can take to give something back. They’re great for pollinators, lovely to look at, and a gentle reminder that small actions matter.

Where I’ve Been So Far

As I walk and explore, I’ll keep adding places here—each with a little story and a link to the Postcard, I’ve created to go with it.

  • Borrowdale – A temperate rainforest full of character and ancient trees. The first place I left seeds. You can discover the Borrowdale Postcard here

  • For my next Postcard, I will be exploring a Chalk Stream in the Lincolnshire Wolds

I started Bellflower & Bloom as a space for nature lovers, gentle activists, and people who care about making a difference in everyday ways. If that sounds like you, I’d love for you to be part of it. Head to the Bellflower & Bloom page to find out more.

You can follow my Postcards from the Endangered via my my Crowdfunding page and in the Sage and Bellflower shop you can find a series of postcards to learn all about the places I will or have visited. The first postcard shares the idea of this series. You can download if for free, by clicking here

And if finding this seed packet made you pause or smile, I hope it also plants something good—in your garden or in your day.

Love Kirsty x
